This passionfruit mojito mocktail is deliciously refreshing, with a hint of citrus, apple juice and some sparkle (in the form of sparkling water!). It’s my take on the classic mojito, but the fruity non-alcoholic beverage kind! Perfect for a single serving or for pleasing a crowd!

What makes it even better is the fact that you can make use of the wonderful fresh limes and passionfruit currently in season this autumn.

This drink was inspired by a mocktail I had from Holey Moley at a work function last year. As it turns out I made two great discoveries that day. First, was that passionfruit mocktails are incredible and totally my thing. The second is that drinks and mini-golfing make a fun combo and such a great group activity!

Any type of passionfruit drink is guaranteed to pique my interest. And as soon as I saw this on the menu, I knew I had to try it. I loved it so much that I just knew I had to make my very own. So I finally got around to making it and here we have the recipe today! Made even better now that we can incorporate in some seasonal fruits, fresh ingredients and a bit of fizz.

What You’ll Need to Make This Passionfruit Mint Mocktail:

Here are all the ingredients you’ll need to whip up this delicious passionfruit, lime and mint mojito mocktail…

Lime, apple, apple juice, mint, crushed ice, sparkling water and passionfruit pulp

Fresh Mint

Fresh mint leaves, impart a subtle herbaceous note to this drink. Not to mention a minty fresh aroma and a pop of green garnish! Large leaves are used within the drink to add some flavour. Then you can finish off the drink with a sprig of mint. This step is completely optional, but it does make it appear extra special and inviting. As a bonus, you can also use it to mix up your drink, if you so desire.

Lime

Fresh lime juice adds a slight tang to this mocktail. It also helps to lift the other flavours in the beverage and add in some citrus. Don’t forget to also cut some lime wedges to garnish your completed cocktail!

TIP: To make the most out of a lime, first roll it on a bench, applying gentle pressure. This will help to release the juices and give you more volume.

Passionfruit

Passionfruit is in season in Autumn, which makes it the perfect time to use them! It gives this drink a wonderful flavour with some citrus notes along with the lime and a slight tang.

If you have trouble getting fresh passionfruit, you could also use passionfruit pulp in syrup instead. You can often find this in your local supermarket in either a small jar or a can.

I prefer to keep the seeds of the passionfruit, however, you can also strain out the seeds if you’d prefer.

Crushed Ice

To help this drink remain cool and refreshing. Although crushed ice is optional, ice cubes work just as well. You could opt for no ice at all.

To make crushed ice place ice cubes in a tea towel, gathering the tea towel up and using something heavy to crush it into smaller pieces. This could be anything from a rolling pin to a saucepan. But make sure it’s something with a bit of weight. Then it’s all good to go and fill that glass.

Apple Juice

Apple juice is one of the base flavours for this drink, which gives it sweetness. Therefore, there isn’t a need to add any sugar.

Sparkling Water

Also known as carbonated water. It adds some bubble and sparkle to this mocktail as well as balances out the sweetness. Sparkling water is relatively flavourless, ensuring it combines nicely with the other flavours without competing or overpowering them.
