A gingerbread latte is a perfect way to get into the holiday season! Add just a touch of spice and sweetness to your coffee for a little something fun and festive.
Plus they’re super simple to throw together, with three components… gingerbread syrup, freshly brewed coffee and some warm frothy milk. Top it all off with a sprinkle of gingerbread spice and some gingerbread cookies for the ultimate treat and cup of comfort!
Let’s get started in building some festive fun into your coffee… served warm, iced or even minus the coffee for a caffeine-free alternative!
Gingerbread Latte Ingredients
This gingerbread latte only requires a few ingredients to enjoy a wonderful cup of cozy goodness including…
Gingerbread Syrup
A wonderfully sweet blend of spices, that taste just like gingerbread cookies but in liquid form! Combining fresh ginger, cinnamon, cloves, sugar, water and treacle/molasses into a flavourful, spiced syrup that can be added to anything you like, particularly beverages.
Making your own ensures you get a great flavour and also spare to make as many gingerbread lattes as you would like!

Freshly Brewed Coffee / 2 Shots of Espresso
This recipe accounts for two single-shot coffees or half a cup of freshly brewed coffee, but you are welcome to make them double shots if you like.
You could also use decaf coffee or leave it out completely for a coffee and caffeine-free alternative.
Milk
Any milk of your choosing will work! It makes such a great pairing with coffee and provides a creamy and smooth mouthfeel and texture.
Milk Frothing
When it comes to frothing milk there are two ways you can do this, that I have found work best. The first is using a milk frother, which does all the work for you, all you have to do is put your desired milk in the device, press the button and wait.
On the other hand, if you don’t happen to have a milk frother, there is a way around this with a whisk and bowl.
Pour the milk into a medium-sized, round-bottomed bowl and whisk the milk until frothy and bubbly. Then you can go ahead and heat it in a small saucepan on low heat until it begins to steam. Don’t forget to continuously whisk to prevent burning or scalding.
Once nice and warm, you can go ahead and pour it into your coffee mixture-filled mugs, foam and all.
Gingerbread Latte Toppings:
Gingerbread Spice
A sprinkle of gingerbread spice on the top of your latte makes a great finishing touch! It gives it a wonderful aroma and light touch of the festive season before you even take a sip.
Gingerbread Cookies
A freshly baked gingerbread cookie makes for a perfect garnish and final addition to your gingerbread latte. There’s nothing better than coffee and a snack all in one!
You can even hang it onto the side of your cup by cutting a little incision at the bottom of your cookies before you bake them, big enough to fit on your cup.
And if you need a recipe, I’ve got you covered with these generously spiced and all things nice gingerbread cookies, which you can download for FREE.
